Bonfire Poems

bonfire-011

This week we were looking at bonfire poems and wrote our own:

I can see flames.

They are swirling and twirling.

They are red, orange and golden yellow.

They are smokey and spitting.

Have a go at your own poem;

I can see flames

They are…

They are…

They are…

We recorded our own bonfire sound effect and posted it on to our radiowaves site.

At the top of the Faraway Tree….

2W’s Cinderella Multimodal story

For the past couple of weeks we have been looking at traditional tales. We have been writing our own versions of Cinderella. Last week we created a multimodal story of Cinderella. Unfortunately the sounds we recorded have not uploaded.

Harvey’s Story

Harvey has wrote the rest for our Cinderella story. Have a little read for yourselves;

the stepmother cleaned and cleaned all day long, she began to get very sleepy. she sat down to have a little rest just as cinderella walked in, “what are you doing how dare you sit down, have you got my clothes ready for the ball yet?” “am so so sorry cinderella i will do it right away” said the very tired stepmother. it wasnt long before cinderella was dancing away at the ball, back at the house the stepmother was crying her eyes out then suddenly a flash of light came, it was her fairy godmother and she told the stepmother she could go to the ball and made her the most beautiful girl in the land. the stepmother was really happy and had lots of fun at the ball, the clock soon struck 12 and the stepmother changed back into her rags and lost her glass slipper. The prince knocked on cinderella’s door the stepmother opened the door and took the glass slipper and placed it on her foot, the prince seen that it fitted her and they got married straight away and lived happily ever after.
THE END.

The Evil Cinderella and the Beautiful Stepmother

This week we have been writing our own versions of Cinderella. We have swaped the roles of Cinderella and the Stepmother.

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful and kind Stepmother and an ugly and mean girl called Cinderella. “Scrub that floor until I can see my face in it” the mean Cinderella would shout.

Can you carry on the story? Post it as a comment and we’ll read it out in class.

We’ve all gone Roald Dahl mad!

Since we have come back from the holidays we just love reading Roald Dahl books. So far we have read the twits and we have started to read Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I think most of the children have taken a Roald Dahl book home to read aswell. Vote for your favourite Roald Dahl book on our democracy poll.

My Favourite Toy

Today we started to write a story about losing a favourite toy after looking at ‘Dogger’. Have a go at carrying on the story at home.

Dave looked really upset. He had lost his favourite toy and was feeling really sad…….

The Sea by Lewis Hamilton

Donkeys stamping,

Dolphins diving,

Sharks snapping,

Crabs clicking,

Fish dipping,

Waves crashing,

Children screeching,

Dogs barking,

Shells rustling,

Sand moving,

Seaguls gliding,

Starfish sticking.

Lewis Hamilton wrote this fantastic poem at home. What do you think of it?
