It’s been another very busy week in RW. You can see some of the highlights in the slideshow below! On Thursday we had a visit from the pony sanctuary. The children learnt about how a knight would have looked after their horse and they even got to ride on one! Next week we will learning all about Chinese New Year.
A week in RW on PhotoPeach
This week we turned our classroom into a pizza restaurant. Some children decided to become waiters or waitresses, some were chefs and some children wanted to deliver the pizzas. The children were writing recipes, menus and signs and some children were finding house numbers to deliver them to. On friday we made pizzas for golden time!
This week we have been up to all sorts! We have started practising for our Christmas Nativity and the children all sang beautifully! On Thurday and Friday we helped to raise money for Children in Need. You can see our penny line on the pictures.
Yet again it’s been a non-stop week in reception! On Monday we had great fun with the Everton coach! We also had visitors from France, Spain, Turkey, Cyprus and Norway to see our school. We performed the little red hen to all our guests and said hello in all the languages. We’ve also been learning about Diwali this week. After reading the story of Rama and Sita we made Diva lights, masks and leanred a dance to perform to our parents.
Yesterday we had a delivery and inside our delivery we found the book ‘Whatever Next?’ After reading the story we decided to have our own picnic on the moon. But first we needed to make lists of the things that we needed. Oh and one small problem… we also needed a rocket to take us there! Well our children soon got on to that. Have a look at pictures of our journey to the moon.
Hello all! It’s been a little while since our last blog so I thought I put up a post to keep you informed. We have been busy in school. Last week we had a visit from Elmer! Elmer was very good at telling jokes. We all said what we are good at. Why not post it as a comment so we can all read it?
Next week we’re going to the Pine Woods on Thursday, how exciting! If you haven’t sent your letter in yet please send it in as soon as possible. Don’t forget we’re off on Friday because it’s an INSET day.
Here’s a few more picture from RW. As you can see we have been busy having more fun. We particularly like exploring outside! Remember to leave a comment for us all to read.
Hello everybody! Welcome to class RW’s blog site. On here you will find out about all the fun things we have been doing and learning in school. This week we have been really busy so far, getting to know each other. The children have been exploring their new classroom and outdoor area, there’s lots for them to do. We have also been singing lots of songs, reading lots of stories and yesterday we even met our class guinea pigs. Take a look at some of the photos of us playing in the rain! Don’t forget to leave a comment and we’ll read it in class.
We had a fantastic day on Thursday at Southport. Thank you to all our helpers who came along. Why not write a post to say what your favourite part of the day was?
This week we have been learning all about the Great Fire of London. We have learnt that Samuel Pepys kept a diary about the events during 1666. For homework we would like the children to use this website to find out more about Samuel Pepys. Then the children should write their own diary entry from Samuel Pepys and post it on our blog.
Even though it’s only been a very short term I think we’re all ready for a rest! Over the holidays please write a piece of news and post it on to our blog site. Tell us where you have been over the holidays, who you’ve seen or what your favourite part was. We’ll then read it once your back in class. Remember all your punctuation (full stops, speech marks and question marks etc) and time words e.g. Then, next and eventually. Have a lovely holiday everybody and we’ll see you on Monday 6th June.
Next week we will starting some of our year 2 assessments. Over the weekend we would appreciate if you could spend some time going through some of the following…
We have been learning about nocturnal rainforest animals; tigers, red eyed tree frogs and tarantulas. Ask your child to say what they know about these animals and describe some of their features. Here’s a good website you could use.
This week we have been learning about different animals that live in the rainforest at night. For homework this week we have asked the children to make a Deadly 60 card about a tarantula. Here’s a good website you can use to research first.
